My 2023 Wardrobe, as told through 4 films I watched betwixtmas

I spent the last week of December in full Goblin Mode. Slippers on, fire lit, some form of alcoholic beverage in hand (if you don't know the day of the week then it's always 5pm) catching up on films. A few hours in, I had managed to lust after a full year of clothing. So this is what I will be wearing over the next 12 months.

Winter: The Banshees of Inisherin

I'm not sure what to say about this film. It was beautiful, charming, funny, gruesome, surprising, familiar and so much more. And it has given me massive knitwear envy. So I will be spending the rest of winter in Colin Farrell's red collar jersey please.

Spring: The Crown

Not strictly a film but my goodness the clothes in this are good. There have been plenty of articles about Charles' suits but it is Diana's plethora of colourful blazers that are getting me excited about the Spring. I will be found in a collection of pastel and plaid jackets which would make Cher Horowitz jealous.

Summer: Glass Onion

Oh to feel the sun on my face again! Did anyone else spend Boxing Day googling all-inclusives in the Med? Whether I make it to more exotic pastures or not, cotton neckerchiefs and oversized stripes will be featuring heavily in my summer wardrobe.

Autumn: The French Dispatch

Suits, vests, thick shirts; by September I will be ready to layer up again. I will have forgotten the despair I feel as the days draw in and will be thrilled to rediscover my jackets and coats. Maybe even a chic hat.
