Shirts are measured by collar size, which means many men find themselves having to buy the wrong size chest and waist to make the top button do up comfortably.
Tapering a shirt can be done in 2 ways, through the side seams. This entails undoing the seams, making the alteration and redoing the seams as they were. This is time consuming but will mean no one knows it has been altered.
The quick way is to add darts at the back. These are subtle and won't be seen from the front. Plus they allow for a more sculpted waist shape.
There are two ways to tell us how snug you would like them.
- You can enclose a second shirt which you like the fit of.
- You can enlist a friend to help you pin it. (See the video for help)
If you choose to pin it please pin down the centre back. Use safety pins to secure in place. As seen in the video.
